Program Director Biographies

Adam Rudzki

Adam has had an extensive footballing journey, playing Senior Football from the age of 16. He understands the local footballing landscape very well, having played for clubs like Richmond, Eastern Lions, Casey Comets, Southern Stars and Bentleigh Greens, before finishing his career playing for Mazenod United in Mulgrave.

After retiring from playing, Adam joined the Board at Mazenod United and oversaw the Senior Football Program, supporting the club’s elevation from State League 5 to State League 2. Adam has also been coaching at both the Grassroots and Junior Football level for the past 5 years.

Adam is a father of three young boys and is local to the Monash area, having grown up in Wheelers Hill. He is highly passionate about football and youth development in particular, creating a fun and inclusive environment that promotes technical development.

Stefan Rudzki

Stef Rudzki has been part of the Melbourne football system for over 30 years, as a player and a coach. Stef represented Victoria across all junior age groups, before progressing to Senior State League Football, playing hundreds of games over a 15 – year period.

Stef’s coaching journey began the day after his playing days ended in 2010. He has been involved in a variety of coaching roles at different clubs including Oakleigh Cannons, Box Hill, Mazenod United, Green Gully, Bulleen Lions and most recently Casey Comets. Like Adam, Stef is very familiar with the Monash area, growing up in Wheelers Hill after arriving from England as a ten-year-old.

Coaches Biographies

Ryan Ollerton

Ryan is now into his first season at Brunswick Juventus as U21’s Men’s Head Coach in NPL2 after completing two seasons as Box Hill United SC as U/21 Men’s Head Coach.

The son of former Socceroo and 1974 World Cup squad member Peter Ollerton, Ryan was a hardworking player, who made his senior debut with Croydon at 16 years old, and after a National Youth League season with Bulleen and some brief trial stints in the UK, Ryan returned to Australia in 2000 where success and a number of VPL accolades soon followed him at Bulleen Zebras, where Ollerton was the ‘Best and Fairest’ awardee and VPL grand final medal winner in 2004 after he scored the winning penalty in a shootout.

A move to Green Gully then materialised under the tutelage of Ian Dobson, as well as Victorian State representation and tour of China in 2005. After a number of close attempts, he finally won his second VPL crown in 2010 with Green Gully, before making a move to Thailand in 2011 for work commitments. It was in Thailand that Ollerton first dabbled with coaching, taking over as player-coach for Londoner FC in the Bangkok Expat Division 1 where multiple trophies were won.

A return to Australian shores saw him accept a player-assistant coach’s position with Eltham Redbacks in 2017, where they immediately won promotion to State League 1SE. After leaving Eltham in 2019, he arrived at Box Hill United SC. Ryan currently has FFA/AFC accredited Senior C license.

Billy Natsioulas

Billy played in the old National Soccer League with Melbourne Knights. Once the league made way for the A-League, Billy played in the Victorian Premier League for South Melbourne and Bentleigh Greens, where he won a Championship with the former.

Throughout his playing career, Billy also completed his coaching licenses and currently holds an AFC A License. Having coached in the Victorian State Leagues for several years, he was also FC Bulleen Lions Senior Men’s Assistant Coach in 2021 and is currently in his second year as Sandringham Senior Men’s Team.

For work, Billy teaches in SEDA College’s Melbourne City High Performance Program, which sees him coach and develop young NPL footballers

Charlie Hennessey

Charlie has a great deal of experience within football having being exposed to his family’s football experiences while growing up, as well as coaching and working with children both in a football and educational environment.

Charlie has coached and worked with a variety of age groups, ranging from 5-12 years old, within the Miniroos system at Pascoe Vale Football Club. He has also had the opportunity of working with the senior team on multiple occasions to gain further knowledge and to learn from others.

During that time, Charlie has coached multiple players, to which he has provided an inclusive and enjoyable playing environment where every individual can learn and express themselves regardless of their skill level.

Charlie is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at Victoria University, where he is looking forward to putting his passion of developing and working with children to great use within the future as well as a teacher at Salesian College where he is involved in their Football Program.

We believe that with the combination of his passion and enthusiasm for the game, as well as his football knowledge, players Charlie coaches will not only develop their football skills but will be taught valuable life skills that can be applied away from the football pitch.

Joel Kelsall

Joel K takes a simple approach to coaching, that has 3 components he likes to ensure he uses in every session. Firstly, making sure your kids have fun, secondly, making sure the participants are in a safe, friendly environment. Lastly, making sure your child comes home learning something new.

He has 5+ years worth of experience coaching diverse scenarios with A-League clubs such as Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory. And also working with Community clubs like Brunswick City Soccer Club and Bulleen Lions Football Club.

Joel is committed to making sure your child is enjoying themselves and getting the most out of every minute and every drill during the session. Joel currently plays for Caulfield Senior Mens Team in State League 2.

Stefan Ciccarelli

Stefan has a strong love for football. As a player he made his debut at Springvale City at 16 years old. From 1998-2018, Stefan represented Springvale City, Dandenong Thunder, Casey Comets, Morwell Pegasus and Endevour Utd at senior level.

For the last 12 years Stefan has been a Primary School Physical Education teacher. He has vast experience coaching children in a range of sports and in more recent years has been heavily involved in his school’s Soccer academy.

Stefan is passionate about helping children develop and learn in safe environments while having fun. AC Milan is the team of his heart and he is looking forward to sharing his love of football with you all.

Geoff Patterson

Geoff brings with him a wealth of football experience, both from a playing and coaching perspective.

Geoff has played professionally back in Scotland, and has over 20 years senior football playing experience, in 4 different countries.

He holds several professionally recognised coaching licenses and has 10 years youth coaching experience, with 7 years in the UK coaching children from 2 – 12 years old and 3 years in Australia coaching at Brandon Park Soccer Club u11s – u13s.

Geoff also worked as an Active Schools Coordinator in Scotland, with Dumfries and Galloway council, coaching multi-sports to primary and secondary school pupils. In addition to his youth coaching experience, Geoff has coached Senior football for 4 years. He is also an avid Glasgow Rangers fan.

Geoff’s passion for coaching children is there for everyone to see on a Saturday morning, and we are delighted to have someone with Geoff’s capability and background supporting the development of our kid’s football and creating a fun environment for them to enjoy.

Roxenn Brood

Roxenn is from the Netherlands and has played soccer for over 15 years and comes from a true soccer family. Her dad was a professional soccer player and is now a professional coach.

Rox works in a primary school by day and has recently been appointed as head coach for Sandringham’s 2023 Senior Women’s Squad.

Rox moved recently to Australia with her boyfriend Grad who also coaches with us at Football Focus.

Grad Damen

Grad has played football since he was 4 and joined Dutch professional club NAC Breda at the age of 9. He was part of their youth set-up until he joined the first team and made his debut at the age of 17 and has played professionally ever since. Grad has also represented Dutch professional clubs TOP Oss and Derde. Grad currently plays for Dandenong Thunder in NPL1 as one of their two visa players. His grandfather Grad “Gerrie” Damen also played professionally for NAC Breda.

Grad has been coaching junior football in Holland for 10 years at different levels.

Adrian Chila

An outstanding junior player, Adrian has also played at a good senior level from an early age, representing clubs such as Kingston City, Frankston Pines, Southern Stars, Mazenod United and Brandon Park.

He has recently made the transition into coaching at Brandon Park as part of the senior men’s reserve coaching staff. Adored by parents and kids alike, Adrian is a valuable member of our coaching staff.

Liam Higgins

Liam’s football pedigree is exceptional and provides a wealth of experience gained at the highest level. Capped by New Zealand at Senior Level, Liam also represented New Zealand U20s at 2011 and 2013 Youth World Cups.

Injury has recently cut short his playing career and has taken his first steps into coaching with us and most recently with Casey Comets as Mens Reserves Team Coach. Like all of our coaches, we are very lucky to have someone of his pedigree at Football Focus.

Amy Crawford

Amy grew up in in NZ and started playing senior women’s football at age 14. Currently, Amy plays for Southern United U19 NPL team and has also been selected into the Melbourne Victory academy girls (GAP).

From 2020, Amy has coached in NZ and more recently in Melbourne at CaseyGirlsCan Women’s soccer program and as an assistant for the miniRoos at Southern United. Amy is a qualified C-Licence coach having recently completed her accreditation in 2023.

Christian Macciocca

Christian currently plays for NPL Under 18s team Langwarrin and is also a student at SEDA College. Christian recently decided to take his first steps into coaching and we are proud that he has started his journey with us at Football Focus.

Not only is our focus on developing children’s playing ability, we are deeply invested in helping our coaches be the best they can possibly be. Christian is already showing that he is a natural coach with enormous potential.

Daniel Chila

With a wealth of experience as a junior player, Daniel has been actively engaged in senior-level football from an early age, representing South Eastern Clubs such as Knox City, Mazenod United and Brandon Park.

Daniel transitioned into coaching at Brandon Park, where he served as the head coach of the senior men’s reserves team from 2022 to 2023. Recently, he completed the FIFA C license, demonstrating his commitment to continuous development and improvement. Teaming up with brother Adrian here at Football Focus, Daniel is “passionate about teaching young players new skills and finds fulfillment in witnessing their growth and development as individuals”.

Daniel currently holds a FFA C-Licence Coaching licence.

Lynton Pietrese

Lynton is a well known and respected figure in Victorian Football, renowned for his dual roles as a player and coach. Hailing from South Africa, he boasts an impressive football and Futsal background. During his junior years, Lynton achieved Provincial and State selections in both outdoor and futsal disciplines. In 2008, he was selected for the U18 Minas Tenis Club futsal team in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. His passion for the sport led him to play at college level in the US from 2008 to 2012, where he qualified twice for the national tournament. Closer to home, Lynton’s senior career in Victoria spans over 300 games, competing at various levels from VPL to State 5.

Lynton began coaching early and completed his USSF coaching certificate in Kansas USA in 2009. He then went on to coach clinics and summer soccer programs in Kansas from 2009 to 2010. Lynton also contributed to the Select Soccer Program Selections and Soccer Clinics in Dallas, Texas, in 2010 and 2011.

His coaching journey continued as he led local and regional representative teams in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 2011 -2013. In 2015, he was involved as Springvale City’s U15s coach and from 2019 to 2023, Lynton served as both an assistant and head coach at JBNPL with Eastern Lions, showcasing his commitment and expertise. He holds an FFA C-license, underscoring his dedication to the sport. Lynton’s wealth of experience makes him a valuable addition to our Team.

Dean Hennessey

Dean Hennessey is a seasoned figure in the world of Victorian football who boasts an illustrious career both on the field and on the sidelines. With an extensive resume spanning the UK, USA, and Australia, Dean’s name resonates within the football community.

After playing 350 senior games, Dean’s journey began in 1998 when he stepped into the realm of coaching, embarking on a remarkable 26 year tenure (and counting) across various senior competitions. Throughout his coaching journey, which includes State League, VPL, and NPL senior levels, Dean has guided teams to an impressive tally of 6 promotions in total, coaching in 330 games.

In 2015, became the Technical Director at Hume City, a position he held for a three-year stint. His next chapter unfolded in 2017 when he joined Pascoe Vale driving their junior JBNPL and U21 programs in his role as Technical Director.

Currently, Dean is at the helm as the Technical Director of the JBNPL and Community Junior programs at Manningham United, where he continues to leave a mark on aspiring football soccer talents. With his experience, dedication, and understanding of the game, we are very lucky to have Dean here at Football Focus.
